Jujitsu

My brother K and I take a martial arts class called Jujitsu (Jujitsu means - Gentle Art). Even though these hip throws I am having done to me might look ungentle, they really don't hurt. We practice these so that if someone (a bad guy) throws us (most likely not in the way you will see) we can land right and get up quickly and defend ourselves.

A hip throw really isn't a throw, it is a trip. Instead of someone lifting a person up and then throwing him that will get tiring, so the way you would trip someone is if he is running up block his arms as he approaches and then bend down to the side in front of him and let him just trip over you. This is a very hard thing to explain I hope that the video will help you to at least get and understanding, listen to what the sensei (teacher) is saying that will help as well.

The first hip throw is the basic one that all hip throws are like. It is called and "O Goshi".

This hip throw is "Seoi Goshi".

There was another video but it was to big for Blogger to load, sorry.

This class K and I take almost every Tuesday and Thursday night.
